While visiting a park Katy tells off a rich snob. The man is so infatuated with Katy's frankness that he asks her to become his personal assistant. Both Katy and Glen are forced to re-examine their feelings for each other.

Some of the members of The Washington Women's Club are not too pleased with their president. So, the women nominate Katy to run for president, causing Glen to feel neglected.

Glen has an idea to promote affordable childcare and Katy has a suggestion: she knows of some elderly women who would be perfect as daycare workers. However, the press gets wind and thinks Katy gives Glen all his ideas.

Katy's rich Uncle leaves her a castle in his will. An attorney suggests turning the castle into a hotel. Glen says Katy has no idea how to do this which only pushes her further with the idea. This means she will have to leave the Morleys.

Katy's new friend in the government is also the eyes and ears of Washington. Katy starts to brag about Glen and his success causing Katy's friend to think he's being promoted to a higher position. Soon the rumor mill goes into overtime.

The time has come for Glen to propose. He plans a wonderful evening, but Katy ends up hosting Danny's scout troop. The two spend the whole night trying to find time for each other.

Glen and Katy decide to visit the farm so that Glen can properly as for Katy's hand in marriage. However, Papa says Nej because he thinks Glen's career is not stable. The family finds a way to convince Papa otherwise.

Katy's friends are planning a bridal shower and it's up to Glen to keep Katy out until the right time. Katy is hoping to see a special concert and gets tickets. Now Glen has a problem trying to get Katy back to her own party.
