Ada cuts off a drunken Steven, urging him to go home. They discuss their marriages. Steven jokes that he intends to become a Peeping Tom, spying on Peyton Place residents until he learns the secret of a good marriage. He asks Ada if a man and a woman can live together. She says no, but they can't live apart either. On the eve of his marriage to Adrienne, Martin has a bachelor's supper brought to him on a tray by Lee.
