Gark has ordered a wormhole but Max jumps into it in order to avoid Anton the dog and Gark follows. As they float through space (with Max as a giant head) he swaps his powers for a bravery module to make Max be brave when he gets back to Earth.

Finding an old catnip toy, Gark accidentally causes Max to turn feral and run off. He gains help from Nelson and The Kid to track Max down and avoid Ol' Crazy Eyes.

Max attributes his bad luck to not paying respect to a poster of the "Hang In There" cat, a large part of cat culture. After finding then reducing the cat to dust who was still hanging in there in the tree, Max worries about the end of days.

Gark notices a wart on Betty's face that seems to have appeared overnight, he's terrified that it must be Zaxos, an intergalactic criminal who's out to get him.
